|Synergy Jazz Foundation Concert Series presents Corey Christiansen.
Jazz guitarist Corey Christiansen honors his western roots with music from his latest recording Lone Prairie, in performance at The Patty and Fred Turner Jazz Center on the Drake University campus.
The latest of five recordings on Origin Records, Lone Prairie has been described by Christiansen as his most important work to date. Christiansen interprets in a thoroughly modern jazz way, some of the old cowboy songs and melodies of the frontier with tunes like “Streets of Laredo”, “Red River Valley” and “Sittin’ on Top of the World”.
Christiansen will be appearing along with Jason Danielson on keyboards, bassist David Altemeier, and drummer John Kizilarmut.
