Analytics Media Group, a company made up of people who managed President Barack Obama's 2008 and 2012 advertising campaigns, was the cover story subject of The New York Times Magazine on June 20. The company's employees are mostly based in New York and Chicago, but CEO Jeff Link is based in Des Moines. The story, titled on the cover as "Is Selling a President Any Different From Selling a Pizza?" profiles how the Obama campaign used "highly effective marketing techniques that were either entirely new or had never been tried on such a grand scale." Strategists formed Analytics Media Group after the campaign to try to use their Obama advertising techniques in the mainstream.
