Mary Lynne Jones recently was honored by Bankers Trust Co. at the bank's Black History Month celebration. Jones recently retired as the executive director of student affairs for Des Moines Public Schools. As a community leader, she has focused on equality issues, volunteering her time with organizations including NAACP, the Girl Scouts' pluralism committee, the Des Moines Art Center's diversity council and the American Red Cross.
