The Des Moines Civic Center ranked No. 23 in the world for theater venue ticket sales through the first half of the year, according to industry tracker Pollstar.
The Civic Center sold 98,089 tickets from Jan. 1 to June 30.
Contributing to the sales were 35,967 tickets sold for "The Book of Mormon," 14,031 tickets sold for "Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical," 17,049 sold for "Million Dollar Quartet" and 5,844 sold for "Rock of Ages."
Pollstar ranks venues with fewer than 5,000 seats. Numbers are self-reported by the venues.
The top three venues in ticket sales were Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and Royal Albert Hall in London. Minneapolis's Orpheum Theatre was No. 9 and Omaha's Orpheum Theater was No. 20. The Midland by AMC in Kansas City was No. 72.
