The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs is reminding Iowans that Nov. 1 is the application deadline for the Iowa Arts Council's Rural Arts Development Grant program. The grant provides $1,000 to $5,000 to support art projects that have a positive impact on the quality of life in rural Iowa, demonstrate public value and support Iowa Arts Council funding priorities. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations incorporated in Iowa; schools, local, county, state and federal government agencies; and tribal councils. Eligible applicants must be located in one of the 61 Iowa counties defined as non-metropolitan. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. to the Iowa Arts Council, 600 E. Locust St., Des Moines. This application deadline is for eligible projects occurring between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2014.
