Each of the six libraries in Des Moines will be closed one day a week now to deal with a budget cut from the city.

The library announced in its June/July newsletter that it needs to cut $460,000 from its budget.

The closures started yesterday. The Central Library will be closed on Saturdays. For the branches' new hours, click here.
