The Food Bank of Iowa will expand its Ham Sandwiches for Kids program, thanks to a donation from the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation and Iowa Select Farms. Beginning in September, the program will provide $5 coupons, four times a year, for sliced or shaved ham to an additional 1,500 Iowa families in Central Iowa who have children participating in the Food Bank's BackPack Program. The program helps 4,500 children who receive free lunches at schools in 26 Iowa counties by sending food home on the weekends and during school breaks. The total value of the coupons is $90,000.
