A center for homeless youth is relocating to a century-old downtown Des Moines building that once housed a theater, a department store and cafeterias, the Des Moines Register reported. Iowa Homeless Youth Centers plans to move into the former Iowa State Bank building, 612 Locust St., in early 2015. Parent organization Youth & Shelter Services purchased the building Wednesday for $525,000 from developer Kent Mauck, the article said.
