Jacobson Cos. has donated $10,000 to Junior Achievement of Central Iowa to benefit the organization's JA BizTown experiential learning center at 6100 Grand Ave. in Des Moines. The gift will be used to help underwrite the financial literacy program's curriculum costs and provide Central Iowa students the opportunity to participate. The Des Moines-based logistics company's founder, Dick Jacobson, was instrumental in the creation of BizTown in 2001. "The invaluable lessons students learn while participating in Junior Achievement not only improve their lives today, but their future," said Terry Solvedt, president of transportation logistics services for Jacobson Cos.
