Seniom Sed is coming back to Court Avenue, offering live music, food, and drinks to those looking for a way to start their weekend. The event will be held each Friday, Sept. 6-20, from 4 to 8 p.m. between Third and Fourth streets on Court Avenue. It is free and open to the public. The party will kick off tonight with live music from Brad Seidenfeld and food by Dos Rios Cantina and Tequila Lounge. Seniom Sed has a long history in Des Moines dating back to 1889. Seni Om Sed, as it was called then, was tied to the Iowa State Fair as a way to boost attendance. The original lasted about 30 years before it was brought back in the 1980s for another run.
