The Iowa Commission on the Status of Women recently announced four women who will be inducted into the Iowa Women's Hall of Fame next month.

The 2014 Iowa Women's Hall of Fame Inductees are:

·         Renee Hardman, West Des Moines, president of Hardman Consulting LLC.

·         Mary O'Keefe, Cumming, retiring senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Principal Financial Group Inc.

·         Maggie Neir Tinsman, Davenport, former legislator and advocate for early childhood education.  

·         Christine Vilsack, Waukee, senior adviser for international education for the U.S. Agency for International Development.             

In addition, the commission will award the 2014 Cristine Wilson Medal for Equality and Justice to Celeste Bremer of Des Moines. Bremer is the chief magistrate for the U.S. District Court in Des Moines.

 

An induction ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 23 at the State of Iowa Historical Building and will be held in conjunction with Women's Equality Day, which commemorates the day in 1920 when all American women obtained the right to vote.
