Acquisition will expand Rockwell Collins avionics information systems

Cedar Rapids-based Rockwell Collins Inc.has reached a definitive agreement to buy the Carlyle Group's Arinc Inc. for $1.39 billion, bringing together two players in the aviation information-management industry, MarketWatch reported. Arinc provides communications, engineering and integration solutions for commercial and government customers, while Rockwell Collins focuses on avionics and cabin technology. The deal is expected to close after regulatory approvals, Rockwell Collins said in a statement.
