The Des Moines West Side and Des Moines Downtown chambers of commerce will host a panel discussion Friday on Education Reform and Workforce Development. Panelists will include Mary Bontrager, executive vice president, Greater Des Moines Partnership; Rob Denson, president of Des Moines Area Community College; Thomas Ahart, superintendent at Des Moines Public Schools; Elisabeth Buck, chief community impact officer, United Way of Central Iowa; and Ryan Wise, Iowa Department of Education. The panel discussion, scheduled Aug. 2 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Hotel Fort Des Moines, 1000 Walnut St., is the second in a series of three-part series on key issues for chamber members this year.
