Chili for Charity fundraiser to be held Nov. 22

The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs will present its 9th annual "Chili for Charity" benefit Nov. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. in conjunction with the Historic East Village's Holiday Promenade. Guests will receive a bowl of chili with toppings, cornbread and a drink for $5 or the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. Santa Claus will visit with children from 5-6 p.m. and DJ Dan Kelley will spin holiday tunes. U.S. Marines will collect toy donations for Toys for Tots throughout the event and the "I Have a Dream Foundation" will sponsor a gift-wrapping station. Donations will benefit the Food Bank of Iowa and Toys for Tots. The event will be held at the State Historical Museum of Iowa, 600 E.
