The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) will offer free rides on its buses starting Sunday through Oct. 12. The offer is part of DART's "Try Transit Week." The promotion is intended to highlight DART's route additions, extended hours, Central Station and its recently launched Trip Planner service. "We're not the same DART you knew even 18 months ago - we're going more places, more often, at more times of the day," said Kirstin Baer-Harding, marketing director at DART, in a news release.
