Danilson named chief judge, Iowa Court of Appeals

The Iowa Court of Appeals announced yesterday it has elected Judge David Danilson as chief judge. Danilson has served on the court of appeals since 2009. The Boone resident is the eighth chief judge of the court of appeals since the state legislature established the court in 1976. He replaces Chief Judge Larry Eisenhauer, who recently retired. Danilson, a Creighton Law School graduate, began in private practice in Boone in 1980 and during that time served as judicial hospital referee and judicial magistrate. He was appointed to the district associate bench in the Second Judicial District in 1987. He was appointed to the district court bench in 1997 and served two years as the assistant chief district judge of the Second Judicial District.
