Deere & Co. announced it has completed its purchase of certain assets of Bauer Built Manufacturing Inc., which is located in Paton, Iowa. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Since 2002, Bauer had manufactured co-branded planters for Deere under a design and manufacturing partnership. Deere said it will continue manufacturing the 44- to 120-foot ultra-wide DB Series planters at the Greene County facility, which employs approximately 150 people. Company officials said the purchase expands Deere's portfolio of agricultural equipment, accelerates the growth of its planter business globally and enhances the opportunity to serve larger farms in key markets around the world.
