The Des Moines City Council Monday approved the construction of a $500,000 Rotary Riverwalk Park on the Principal Riverwalk downtown, just north of the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge. The fishing-themed park on the west bank of the river will be totally financed by nine local Rotary clubs and will be the ninth focal point of the Principal Riverwalk. Groundbreaking will be at 10 a.m. on May 15.
