The Iowa Economic Development Authority board this morning approved $3.6 million in tax incentives to DuPont Pioneer for a nearly $50 million multiphase expansion of the company's fast-growing Johnston campus. The company will receive $3.1 million in research activity tax credits and a rebate of an estimated $500,000 in sales and use taxes paid on construction costs. The expansion includes adding 26,500 square feet to the Mendel Controlled Growth Environment building, as well as new technology and equipment for research and development to the existing Insectary. The company also plans to add conference and classroom space to accommodate increasing demand for research-and-development training. The project also includes plans for a 20,000-square foot research and educational training center for seed treatment technologies. Click here to read more.
