The Iowa Business Council today
announced that its members have collectively set a goal of hiring 2,500
veterans over the next five years to support Gov. Terry Branstad's Home Base
Iowa initiative. The council is made up of business executives from around the
state, and its member companies employ nearly 250,000 people in all 99
counties. The Home Base Iowa initiative aims to match military veterans with
companies in the state, with the goal of helping support veterans and
increasing the state's workforce.
