Lifespace Communities Inc., a Des Moines-based operator of senior living communities in seven states, has appointed Sloan Bentley as its new president and CEO. She succeeds Scott Harrison, who is retiring. Under Harrison's leadership, Lifespace has grown to become the seventh-largest nonprofit senior living provider in the country, with 12 continuing care retirement communities, including Deerfield in Urbandale. Bentley, a 29-year veteran in senior living and health care, previously served in top-level leadership positions with American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW). Most recently, she served as president of Seniority Inc., a wholly owned ABHOW subsidiary providing management, sales and marketing services to senior living organizations nationwide. She has a bachelor's degree in gerontology from Bowling Green State University and a master of long-term care administration from the University of North Texas.
