Microsoft jobs disappear in the cloud
Bloomberg: Microsoft Corp. said today that it will eliminate as many as 18,000 jobs, about 14 percent of its workforce. Included in the cuts are 12,500 factory and professional positions that are being eliminated as part of an effort to streamline operations as the company prepares for the "cloud era."
Housing starts dropped 9 percent in June
MarketWatch: Construction on new homes tumbled 9.3 percent in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 893,000, the slowest pace in nine months, led by drops for single-family homes and apartments, the U.S. Commerce Department said today. Economists had predicted an increase in new construction.
