JPMorgan CEO diagnosed
with throat cancer
JPMorgan Chase & Co. boss Jamie Dimon said Tuesday that he has been
diagnosed with a curable throat cancer, but will remain working while
undergoing treatment. His prognosis from doctors is "excellent" and
it was caught quickly, he wrote in a memo to colleagues and shareholders.
Private sector adds
281,000 jobs in June
U.S. companies hired 281,000 workers in June, marking the biggest monthly
increase since November 2012, a report by a payrolls processor showed on
Wednesday. Private job gains in May were 179,000.
T-Mobile accused of
charging customers with bogus fees
T-Mobile is accused of charging up to 40 percent of its customers hundreds of
millions of dollars in bogus charges. The Federal Trade Commission filed a
lawsuit Tuesday alleging that T-Mobile earned a windfall in recent years from
third-party merchants offering bogus text message subscriptions for things like
flirting tips, horoscopes and celebrity gossip.
