The Greater Des Moines Partnership and Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization are in the process of establishing a local district council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). ULI is a nonprofit education and research institute dedicated to providing leadership in the responsible use of land. The local district council will serve Iowa and join the existing network of 51 district councils nationwide. A local organizing committee has been established to manage the application process and set up the chapter. The Partnership also credits Larry James, a real estate lawyer at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, with playing an integral part of establishing the local council. A kickoff event will be held on Dec. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Equitable Building, 604 Locust St. To register, click here.
