Peter Flynn Sr., founder of Flynn Wright Inc., died last week at the age of 86. Flynn started his advertising career at Lessing Advertising Co. Inc. (now Lessing-Flynn) in 1952, and resigned as its executive vice president in 1981 to establish his own company with his son, Peter Jr. The firm, The Flynn Advertising Agency, merged with Celia Wright Advertising Ltd. in 1984 to form Flynn Wright. He retired in 2003. Flynn was past president of the Des Moines Advertising Club (now the American Advertising Federation of Des Moines), the Boys Club of Des Moines (now the Boys and Girls Club), and the Des Moines Convention Bureau (now the Convention and Visitors Bureau).
