Real estate analytics firm CoreLogic Inc. predicts that home prices will increase nearly 7 percent nationwide over the next year, according to a release. In the year ending in March, home prices increased 11 percent. "Home prices continue to rise across the nation, but affordability, tight credit and supply concerns are becoming an increasing drag on purchase market activity," Anand Nallathambi, president and CEO of CoreLogic, said in the release. In Greater Des Moines, home prices increased nearly 1 percent over the one-year period, with properties selling at less than market value and the sale of bank-owned real estate limiting price gains. Excluding those properties, prices increased nearly 3 percent March to March.
