U.S. Bank issued more U.S. Small Business Administration loans than any other lender in Iowa, according to a news release.

The bank approved 38 loans totaling $5.3 million in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. Those numbers were up from 25 loans totaling $1.9 million in 2012.

The bank said it was the second leading SBA lender in the nation by dollar volume in the last fiscal year, when it issued $639 million in loans.
