Three Des Moines chefs have been named semifinalists for a prestigious food award, The Des Moines Register reported. The James Beard Foundation Awards cover all aspects of the food industry, from chefs and restaurateurs to food journalists and restaurant architects. This year, Baru 66's David Baruthio and Proof's Sean Wilson are semifinalists for the regional Outstanding Chef: Midwest category, while Orchestrate Hospitality's George Formaro is nominated in the national category of Best Restaurant.
