More American workers feel the
economy is improving, but they are still in the minority, according to the
Principal Financial Well-Being Index released Wednesday.
Des Moines-based Principal
Financial Group Inc. hires Harris Interactive to conduct regular polls of
Americans on financial issues. In this survey, 35 percent of American workers
say their economic outlook is optimistic, up from 21 percent six months ago
Even so, in a separate response, 44 percent said they are still holding off on
making major purchases such as a car or a home because of economic worries. The
poll was conducted in late January.
