Business Publications Corporation Inc. today announced details of a long-term leadership succession plan that capitalizes on internal talent, positions its flagship brands Business Record and dsm Magazine for continued growth and innovation, and creates a new division to capitalize on future custom publishing opportunities.

As part of the leadership succession plan, the company is promoting four long-term managers effective today. Three of those managers will lead three distinct divisions in the company, while one will oversee Business Publications operations and resources to support the three divisions and continue to capitalize on the efficiency of shared services.

Chris Conetzkey has been promoted to publisher of the Business Record after serving as the Business Record's editor for nearly six years.

Kris Maggard has been promoted to publisher of dsm Magazine after serving 14 years as Business Publications manager of magazines.

Ashley Holter becomes publisher of WriteBrain, a new division that will launch this spring and provide book publishing, content creation, custom publishing, event management and design services. Holter has been with the company for seven years, most recently as the Business Record's director of advertising, and will continue to lead sales for the Business Record during the transition.

Jason Swanson has been promoted to vice president of Business Publications. Swanson has been with the company for 17 years, most recently as director of operations.

Janette Larkin, who joined Business Publications in 2001 and has served as publisher for the past 10 years, will assume the role of president of Business Publications as she helps oversee a smooth leadership transition in preparation for her planned retirement in a few years.

"Business Publications has been blessed to employ very intelligent and exceptionally ambitious people," said Connie Wimer, who remains chairman and owner of Business Publications. "As the company and its publications have grown over the years, we have constantly looked for ways to enhance the growth opportunities for that very special staff. Today's announcement of the promotion of these four people to more challenging and meaningful roles in the company gives me great pleasure. It will enable them and the company to continue to expand and serve the needs of our ever growing community in new and innovative ways."
