Iowa women owned businesses lag in technology use

A recent report from Connect Iowa showed that women-owned businesses in the state are behind other privately-held businesses when it comes to technology. The study sampled 462 women-owned businesses and 264 businesses not owned by women.
The key numbers:
76% - The percent of women-owned businesses that use computers, compared with 85 percent of male-owned businesses.
65% - The percent of women-owned businesses that used broadband for business, compared with 76 percent of male-owned businesses
$200K - The median annual revenue difference between women-owned businesses that subscribe to broadband and maintain a website compared with those that do not use broadband at all.
