Confidence to quit still lags

The confidence to quit is a reflection of an improving economy. As the job outlook improves, the number of people leaving their jobs voluntarily begins to exceed the number of people who are laid off or discharged. The ratio for a normal economy is 1.0, which is indicated by the red line. The years of the Great Recession are indicated in grey. This graph shows that the construction industry still feels insecure to many workers.
