The Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the area's business community and recognize local business leaders at its "Victory Celebration" on Feb. 18. Business leaders recognized will be Christina Anderson of Iowa Living magazine as Ambassador of the Year; Matt Coen of Walker, Coen, Lorentzen Architects as Citizen of the Year; Ted Irvine of The Mansion wins the Soozie McBroom Award, given to an individual who works diligently behind the scenes to make the chamber stronger; and Mediacom is Business of the Year. Also at the event, David Maxwell, president of Drake University, and Jay Byers, CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, will perform a "special music jam." The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at WesleyLife's W.T. and Edna Dahl Adult Day Center, 3520 Grand Ave. Registration is $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers; to register, click here.
