Wholesale inventories edged up in May, but increase was less than expected

Wholesale inventories rose by slightly less than anticipated in May, according to a report today from the U.S. Commerce Department, RTTNews reported.
Inventories increased 0.5 percent after rising 1 percent in April. Economists had expected inventories to climb by about 0.6 percent, compared to the 1.1 percent increase originally reported for the previous month.
