On Thursday evening, Drake University will host a panel discussion on understanding Islamic finance systems with four experts, including Noripah Kamso, advisor of the Group Islamic Banking Division for Commerce International Merchant Bankers. The free event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Sussman Theater on Drake's campus. Kasmo is considered an expert in corporate credit and lending, and is recognized for establishing CIMB lending businesses. She will be joined on the panel by David Vicary Abdullah, president of the International Center for Education in Islamic Finance; Larry Zimpleman, Principal chairman, president, and CEO; and Jim McCaughan, CEO of Principal Global Investors. Kavilash Chawla, who will serve as the global practitioner in residence at Drake next spring, will moderate the panel. Chawla currently serves as the managing director of Nur Global Strategies.
