The Iowa Business Council announced Thursday that Donald Pearson, regional president with Wells Fargo Bank N.A., will join the organization. Council membership consists of the top executives of Iowa's largest employers, the state's three public universities and the Iowa Bankers Association. Pearson, a 37-year veteran of the financial services industry, oversees a seven-state banking region for Wells Fargo Bank as the Great Plains Region president based in Des Moines. Before moving to Iowa last November, Pearson was a regional president for Wells Fargo's Oregon and southwest Washington region. His seat on the council was previously held by J. Scott Johnson, the former Iowa-Illinois president of Wells Fargo, who announced his retirement last June.
