One Wealth Partners, a service of Des Moines-based Hamilton Juffer and HJN Advisors, will have an estate planning seminar from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Embassy Club, 33rd Floor of the Ruan Building. The guest speaker is Ed Pennfield, senior director of The Bank of New York (BNY) Mellon, which has a working relationship with the local firms. The seminar also will focus on the "cost of comfort" in the post-recovery economy. For example, a challenge currently facing investors and trusts is the fact that safe investments are no longer a sure thing. Low interest rates in the bond and treasury markets-the traditional refuge for safe investments-are generating thin margins and could carry a high risk, according to a release.
