A team made up of eight Greater Des Moines high school students is among three in the nation selected to present a design project for competition in the ACE/Construction Industry Round Table April 30 in Washington, D.C.
The design of a portable classroom was part of a project in the annual ACE Mentor Program of Central Iowa educational program, in which architects, engineers and other construction professionals work with students to solve issues in the design and construction industry.
This year, 75 students from 11 metro area schools participated.
