Most working adults aren't particularly happy with their career choice, according to a survey recently conducted for the University of Phoenix.
The Career Change Survey found that only 14 percent of working adults are employed in their dream careers, and 55 percent of working adults are interested in changing careers.
Other survey findings:
- Only 20 percent of business owners and 16 percent of C-level executives say they are in their dream careers.
- Among workers in their 20s, 78 percent are interested in changing careers. More than half of adults in their 40s and 50s are also interested in changing careers.
- Some 73 percent of working adults are not currently in the career they planned.
The survey findings were based on a Harris Interactive poll conducted between April 18 and 26. A total of 1,616 U.S. adults ages 18 and older who work full time, part- time or who are self-employed took the survey.
