More than 2,000 walkers are expected to participate in the ALS Association Iowa chapter's 2012 Walk to Defeat ALS at Principal Park on Saturday at 10 a.m. A fund-raising goal of $350,000 has been set for the ninth annual walk.

Along with many other local and statewide organizations, the following corporate partners have been major contributors to the event: Presenting partner Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino has contributed and raised more than $43,000, and Iowa Health-Des Moines and Iowa Hospice Foundation have each contributed $10,000.
