The Homestead, which has been assisting children and adults with autism in Central Iowa since 1994, has received a three-year accreditation from the international Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
The CARF accreditation is the highest accreditation an organization can receive. Homestead was accreditated in the areas of supports for children with autism spectrum disorder and supports for persons with autism spectrum disorder services, according to a release.
The Homestead said it is the first autism services center in the state to receive such accreditation.
