Workiva reported a 23 percent gain in total revenue in 2016, but showed a slightly higher net loss. The Ames-based software company projected higher net losses in 2017. Total revenue was $178.6 million last year, up from $145.3 million in the prior year. Subscription and support revenue was $143.1 million. The company's GAAP net loss was $44.0 million, compared with $43.4 million in 2015, and is projected to be as high as $50 million this year. Workiva had cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaling $62.7 million, up from $53.8 million.
