A group of 600 conservative business leaders, evangelical leaders and law enforcement officials were scheduled to convene in Washington, D.C., today to speak with members of Congress on immigration reform. Area businessmen Jon Troen, president of Rock Communications Ltd. and Colorfx Inc., and Mark White, owner of PeachBudz and president at Infinite Fuel Solutions and Clean Air Energy, were among the group. The event was sponsored by the Partnership for a New American Economy, Bibles, Badges and Business for Immigration Reform network, FWD.us and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The lobbying effort was focused on 80 representatives from 40 states, all of whom are Republicans, according to an article over the weekend in The New York Times.
