Citizens can participate in city of Des Moines budget process

The city of Des Moines will have two town hall meetings Thursday on its budget for fiscal year 2015. The mayor, City Council, city manager and finance director will lead discussions about the budget. The first meeting is from noon to 1 p.m. at the Des Moines Public Library, 1000 Grand Ave. Attendees can bring their own brown bag lunch. The second meeting is at 6 p.m. at the same location. People who cannot attend but who want to participate in the budget process can do so via an app that is available on the city's website.
