For the first time in three years, all clerk of court offices statewide are now open to the public a full five days a week, the Iowa Judicial Branch announced this week.

Due to staff shortages, the clerk of court offices had been closed on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons since the fall of 2009. Effective this week, all clerk's offices are now open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Iowa Supreme Court authorized more than 40 additional positions for the offices as part of a $167.7 million Iowa Judicial Branch budget signed by the governor in June.
