Jeanie Kunkle Vaudt appointed judge in district that includes Greater Des Moines

Gov. Terry Branstad has appointed Jeanie Kunkle Vaudt as judge in Judicial District 5C. Vaudt received her law degree from the Drake University and is an assistant attorney general at the Iowa Department of Justice. Vaudt was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Glenn E. Pille. The counties in the 5th District are Adair, Adams, Clarke, Dallas, Decatur, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Marion, Polk, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Warren and Wayne. Vaudt is the wife of former Iowa Auditor David Vaudt, who resigned in April to take a job as chairman of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.
