Taxpayers group will host discussion about local service delivery

Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa's "Ideas in Action" series continues on Oct. 17 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with a discussion about innovations in providing what traditionally have been local government services. Long-time public official E.J. Giovannetti will lead the conversation, which will focus on shared services, the use of non-public service providers, or a combination of both. A panel will talk about myths and realities of outsourcing and elements for a successful collaboration. The event will be at Embassy Club West, 520 Market St., West Des Moines. Cost is $20 for association members and $25 for non-members. Click here to register.
