Midwest manufacturing picked up in March

Manufacturing in the Midwest
nudged up 0.3 percent in March to a seasonally adjusted level of 96.5,
according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Revised data show the index
was up 1.1 percent in February. Regional output increased 6.4 in March from a
year earlier. Manufacturing in Iowa, lllinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin
are covered in the Chicago Fed's monthly report.
