Kemin Industries Inc. announced today that more than 600 Des Moines-based Kemin employees have moved into the company's new worldwide headquarters building at 1900 Scott Ave. Located in the emerging southeast corridor near downtown, the 94,000-square-foot building houses work spaces, laboratories, collaboration areas and a fitness center. The $30 million headquarters building completes a five-year, $125.5 million overall investment in the Kemin Des Moines facilities. "Our new global headquarters creates an inspiring and collaborative work environment for our employees," said Chris Nelson, Kemin's president and CEO. "At Kemin, we believe our employees are our most valuable asset, and we are excited to see the innovation that sparks from bringing all of our teams under one roof." Kemin, which develops specialty ingredients for the global feed and food industries as well as the health, nutrition and beauty markets, is also adding regional headquarters in Russia and South Africa. The company plans a grand opening ceremony for the Des Moines headquarters in August.
