Muscatine-based furniture manufacturer HNI Corp. reported sales for the full year ended Dec. 31 of $2.2 million, down from $2.3 million at the start of the year, and net income of $86 million or $1.88 per share, down from $2.32 over the same period. HNI President and CEO Stan Askren said in a release that demand for the company's products in 2017 is expected to start slowly and "build throughout the year driven by an improving economy and investments in new products and selling capabilities."
